    Want to use ChatGPT but need some expert help? This course is designed to help you build the skills and confidence you need to get the most out of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT. Under the guidance of AI expert Leo Lo, you’ll master the art of prompt engineering, deepen your understanding of how ChatGPT works, and learn how a systematic approach can help you get better outcomes.

    Learning Outcomes

    This course will help you to:

    1. Describe the relationship between prompt inputs and the outputs that ChatGPT generates   
    2. Apply core principles of prompt engineering in order to generate quality outputs   
    3. Hone your prompt crafting skills and produce consistent, coherent and contextually relevant responses  
    4. Take a systematic approach when interacting with ChatGPT in order to produce more nuanced and coherent AI dialogues  
    5. Demonstrate ethics and integrity when utilizing ChatGPT or related AI tools  
    6. Build confidence and proficiency when implementing the CLEAR framework as part of your ongoing interactions with ChatGPT

      • Leo Lo

        Dr. Leo S. Lo serves as the Dean and Professor at the College of University Libraries and Learning Sciences at the University of New Mexico. He is also the President-Elect of the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL). His work centers on integrating AI into library services and advancing AI literacy.

      • Module One: ChatGPT Conversations - Impactful Interactions

        This module will help you to:

        1. Describe the relationship between prompt inputs and the outputs that ChatGPT generates
        2. Take a systematic approach when interacting with ChatGPT in order to produce more nuanced and coherent AI dialogues
        3. Hone your prompt crafting skills and produce consistent, coherent and contextually relevant responses

      • Module Two: A Framework for Effective AI Communication

        This module will help you to:

        1. Apply core principles of prompt engineering in order to generate quality outputs
        2. Build confidence and proficiency when implementing the CLEAR framework as part of your ongoing interactions with ChatGPT
        3. Demonstrate ethics and integrity when utilizing ChatGPT or related AI tools
